In 2022, I co-founded Outspoken, iHeartMedia’s first podcast network created by and for the LGBTQ+ community, alongside writer and activist Raquel Willis.

As Executive Producer and Creative Lead, I helped build Outspoken from the ground up—developing the creative direction, managing talent, and shaping the sound and spirit of the network. Day to day, I worked closely with hosts to craft and evolve their shows, from concept and tone to format, identity, and rollout. I also led the greenlighting of new originals and guided the transition of existing podcasts into the network’s roster.

Under my leadership, Outspoken grew into a major force in the audio space—generating over $2 million in partnership revenue through collaborations with leading brands, and becoming a first-of-its-kind network rooted in queer voices and perspectives.

Highlights include:

• Tell Me Something Messy — hosted by Brandon Kyle Goodman, an honest and hilarious deep dive into identity, relationships, and self-acceptance
• Afterlives — a powerful true-crime series exploring the life and death of Layleen Polanco
• Queer Chronicles — a diary-style show featuring LGBTQ+ youth from legislative battleground states
• Cruising Confessions — produced in partnership with Gilead, inspired by Sniffies’ community stories
• Fighting Words with George M. Johnson
  

Outspoken didn’t just celebrate queer voices—it amplified them. The network brought 
authenticity, humor, and depth to the forefront of podcasting, setting a new standard for how LGBTQ+ stories could sound and feel in mainstream media.
